Keeping Up With the Crawleys

by The Girl

The season two finale of Downton Abbey was jammed packed full of drama, plot developments, and game changers. But nothing was as great as the prospect of Lady Mary running off to New York. It wasn’t just Lady Mary & New York (even though Lady Mary on her own is usually enough reason to love something), it was that head housemaid & general moral compass, Anna, asked if she could accompany her (to escape her own drama).

Basically the rest of the episode was lost on me as I thought about how brilliant the spin-off series/webisodes/okay I’d take one episode of Lady Mary & Anna in New York would be.

So of course I had to create their promo poster. This show, however, won’t be airing on E!

Ah, what could have been!

I hope the “New Direction” they are going is the exit

by The Girl

How unrealistic was is that the New Directions won Sectionals?

This is how the Trouble Tones should have ended their Sectionals winning performance:

Pronto Toronto: from Degrassi to Being Erica

by The Girl

This week’s epsiode of Being Erica saw the return of Lauren Collins (best known for playing Paige on Degrassi)!

As with all Canadian shows, we’ve seen a lot of familiar faces on Being Erica. Below are the Degrassi stars we’ve seen on Being Erica!

Paula Brancati

The ultimate accomplishment. Paula Brancati was a series regular on both Degrassi & Being Erica at the same time. While it’s impressive she was on two shows, what’s more impressive is on the shows she played ages 17 and 32, respectively.

Jane Vaughn (Degrassi)                                     Jenny Zalen (Being Erica)

John Bregar

Dylan Michalchuk (Degrassi)                                 Barrett (Being Erica)

Aubrey Graham

Jimmy Brooks (Degrassi)                                 Ken (Being Erica)

Cory Lee

Ms. Oh (Degrassi)                                 Chantel (Being Erica)

Lauren Collins

Has appeared in two episodes as Young Barb (Erica’s mother).

Paige Michalchuk (Degrassi)                                 Young Barb Strange (Being Erica)

Jake Goldsbie

Jake Goldsbie, Jake Epstein, & Alexandria Benoit were all in the same episode together.

Toby Isaacs (Degrassi)                                 Beezer (Being Erica)

Jake Epstein

Craig Manning (Degrassi)                                 Malcolm Abrams (Being Erica)

Alexandria Benoit

Sadie Rowland (Degrassi)                                 Rachel Zimmerman (Being Erica)

Shannon Kook-Chun

Rich Taiwanese playboy partier of undetermined age. Everything he did was hilarious.

Zane Park (Degrassi)                                 Kendrick Kwan (Being Erica)

Adamo Ruggiero

Adamo has made two appearances as Brant’s assistant at River Rock Publishing.

Marco Del Rossi (Degrassi)                                 Luis (Being Erica)

Tamara Duarte

While I don’t actually like Charlie on Degrassi (recurring character), Tamara Duarte’s guest spot on Being Erica is one of the funniest things I’ve seen. She played a Latina Floridian that gets in a fight with her cheating boyfriend & Jenny (Paula Brancati).

Her whole scene is throwing things & yelling in Spanish. It is amazing.

Charlie (Degrassi)                                 Rando (Being Erica)

The Secret Circle Couple: Episode 4

by The Girl

Continuing on my post about Faye & Melissa from The Secret Circle. Welcome to post two of what is obviously going to need to be an ongoing series:

Episode 4: Heather

Some questions are answered by Heather Barnes, but more are raised. Who cares about the parents & the past, what was going on with Faye & Melissa in this episode?

1. Melissa helps Faye open her locker with their new bound magic. What a helpful girl.

2. Faye tells Melissa how she really feels. “Look. I know you like this guy, but we both know it’s not going to last.” Oh? Why’s that I wonder?

3. Faye tries to show her support for Melissa & her beard, Nick. “The last thing I want is for you to think I was jealous of him.” The image below is what is referred to as “a knowing smile”

4. While making out with Nick, Melissa literally says Faye’s name. It may be because she can see her being attacked next door. Maybe. She does however push Nick off of herself to run to the window!

4. After the crazy incidents of the night, Melissa say to Faye, “I’m glad you’re alright.” With some touching. Nick glowers.

4. As any respectable girlfriend would, Faye says to Melissa, “Come on I’ll give you a ride home.”

Alright! Looks like we’re still going strong on Faye/Melissa front!

This math is going to blow your mind!

I’m really suprised The TV Addict hasn’t done a “Separated at Birth” post for Erin Hannon (Ellie Kemper) from The Office & Colette Valois (Karine Vanasse) from Pan Am. I think they look so much alike!

After some quick math, I discovered what should be an unspoken backstory for Erin.

As we know, Erin was adopted & does not know who her biological mother is. Pan Am takes place in 1963. Are you following my train of thought???

We have to make some assumptions/take averages for this little excersie to work, but here we go!

  • Pan Am takes place in 1963
  • To be a Pan Am stewardess you have to be college educated & not over 32 years old. So, Colette is anywhere from 22-32 years of age.
  • Erin is currently 29

If we put Colette at the mean age of stewardess age regulations, 27, she would be 75 in the year 2011. She could easily be Erin’s grandmother!

Yes. That just happened.

I like my Tim Tams like I like my TV schedule…slammed

by The Girl

Anyone else notice a lot of Australian actresses crop up as main characters in the new shows this year? Here’s a rundown:

Rachael Carpani (Against the Wall)

Abby Kowalski. The Internal Affairs detective from a family of cops. Because who doesn’t love an Aussie playing a Chicagoan in what is suppsoed to be Chicago, but is obviously Toronto.

Phoebe Tonkin (The Secret Circle)

Faye Chamberlain makes up 1/6 of the titular Circle & 1/2 of my new favorite couple.

Rachael Taylor (Charlie’s Angels)

Another Abby! Abby Sampson. Former Seattle Grace-Mercy West surgeon New York socialite really into burglary. Now an Angel.

Margot Robbie (Pan Am)

Laura Cameron. Newest Pan Am stewardess, Life magazine cover girl, & sister of the awesome Kate.

Poppy Montgomery (Unforgettable)

Carrie Wells. The NY detective with hyperthymesia.

Side note: not really sure I like the Pops as a redhead.

Bonus: Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries)

It’s not a new show, but it is a new character! Claire Holt is back! Hooray! After her stint as Emily “Revolving Door” Fields’s girlfriend on Pretty Little Liars, she is now playing recent undead Undead & Original sister, Rebecca, on The Vampire Diaries. She gets to rock a British accent!

Another bonus involving Claire Holt? She & Phoebe Tonkin starred in the Australian show “H2O: Just Add Water” together.
